Environmental Awareness

United Nations Day is for celebrating the the formation of the United Nations in 1945. Who celebrates? It is currently made up of 193 Member States. The mission and work of the United Nations are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter. United Nations Day is always celebrated on 24th pf October because that's the day when the United Nations was made official. Before there was a United Nations, there was an international organization called the League of Nations. The League of Nations broke up after they were unable to prevent World War II. On January 1, 1942, in the middle of World War II, representatives from 26 nations signed the Declaration by United Nations, which was an agreement to fight together against the Axis Powers (Germany, Italy and Japan).
